Sometimes I get a really great response to emails sent out. I thought this one was worth sharing. Please feel free to comment.
Mark, Thanks for the response. FYI...I was the one who suggested placing
a link to your site back when Sara started sending out Emails. I'm an old fart...
My first RC was a Heathkit TX/RX my Dad and I built from a kit circa 1970.
We even had to put the servos together! The RX and servos then were HUGE.
To tell you the truth, all this new RC gear is a little confusing to us old guys.
Receivers the size of a postage stamp, servos the size of two sugar cubes,
LiPo batteries and their related chargers that balance the cells and inexpensive
transmitters that can store multiple receivers...is that what "binding" is?!?
The price of the gear is now cheap enough that you can have separate receivers
and servos for each plane. WOW! This is the kind of info a lot of people new,
or getting back into the hobby need. It needs to be in the form of
"RC For Dummies". I have been out of RC for about 15 years now. A lot has
changed. It used to take all winter to build a plane from a box of wood.
Then you would try not to crash because your flying season would end quickly.
I, like many others, am interested in the foamies because they seem inexpensive,
you can build them in a few hours, you can afford several with individual
receivers and servos (no swapping gear between planes), and you can fly them
in your back yard or indoors at a local gym. Keep up the good work and keep
the news coming. Ride Safe. Shoot Straight. Speak the truth. David J. Parsons
